I'm debating whether or not to go pick through all of our issues since I started working at the Reporter, or whether I should just upload ads as I think of them. The first is time consuming, but will yield a lot of stuff and will also show my development as a designer over the years. The second will happen slowly and won't fill up my spare hours. I'm going to go pick through 2006 issues. Since I have too much time at this particular moment and I might as well use it productively.

1. Determine what you're selling, both metaphorically and literally. Metaphorically, you're ALWAYS selling a lifestyle. This is the part that moodboards are for. Are you selling happiness? Relief? Security? Sex? Love? Beauty? Wealth? Fun? ...? ...? Who does your target audience WANT to be? What is the driving need that will make them buy your product?
